Learn about Placemaking in the City of London
Our goal is to develop communities that have a clear sense of place and identity - to create places rather than "no place". These communities will offer significant value to those that live in them as healthy places that residents can identify with, form social bonds around and be proud of. Collectively, these communities will represent the ongoing development of London as a unique, interesting, creative and outstanding City of choice.

Sean Galloway was hired last Fall as London 's urban designer. He grew up in London 's Westmount community, but he studied in Waterloo and in Sydney , Australia , and has worked in Oakville and beyond. He has seen what cities around the world can become; he has seen welcoming, integrated, livable communities; and he sees lots of potential in London .
Meet Sean and learn about Placemaking in London , a design concept also known as smart growth or new urbanism, which supports pedestrian access, mixed use residences, commercial and live work and small parks and neighbourhood meeting places.
